An Post 5-a-side Dublin Champions 2012

Congratulations to our boys’ soccer team who won the An Post Dublin 5-a-side competition in Irishtown Stadium today (May 2nd). They will now take part in the Leinster Finals in 3 weeks.

The day started well with the team winning all 5 group matches, scoring 27 goals in the process. This took them to the quarter finals against some tough opposition.

A tense quarter final against St. Patrick’s, Ringsend was settled with 2 quality goals, leading to a semi-final against St. Damian’s, Walkinstown. Another 2-0 win set up a final against St. Catherine’s, Rush.

The lads kept their concentration and patience and finally took the lead with 4 minutes to play. A second goal settled matters and we emerged deserving winners after a gruelling day of football.
